Job Summary

This role involves serving as a key team member responsible for the installation, administration, and continuous development of complex LAN and WAN infrastructures for the Saxon Police across over 300 locations. Day-to-day tasks include advanced monitoring, system updates, implementing network access protection, and conceptualizing Software-Defined Network (SDN) technologies. The administrator will provide 3rd-level support, focusing on sustainable fault resolution, and drive the expansion of the police's Wide Area Network (WAN PolSN) to ensure data sovereignty and protect critical infrastructure. Candidates must possess a degree or relevant vocational training in IT, combined with professional experience operating complex Cisco components and managing security techniques, ensuring the availability and security of essential police communication systems.

Required Skills

Education

Completed university degree in IT (e.g., Computer Science, Information and Communication Technology, Telecommunications) or a completed, minimum three-year vocational training in the IT sector.

Experience

  • Professional experience in operating complex LAN and WAN infrastructures
  • Professional experience operating complex Cisco components
  • Professional experience in Voice Over IP (VoIP) environments
  • Experience with network components and management systems from Cisco
  • Experience in Performance and Capacity Management, System Management, Monitoring Tools, and IT Service Management
