Job Summary
The Federal Institute for Materials Research and Testing (BAM) is seeking a Chemical Technical Assistant to join the Chemical and Optical Sensor Technology division in Berlin-Adlershof. This role is crucial for supporting research focused on technical safety in material science and chemistry. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing and executing preparative and analytical chemical work, such as synthesizing small organic molecules, functionalizing particles and surfaces, and utilizing them in chemical analysis and sensor technology. The assistant will operate and maintain advanced instrumental procedures, including Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM) and optical spectroscopy, and manage data processing, evaluation, and documentation. Key qualifications include a completed CTA or Chemical Technician qualification, strong experience in preparative and analytical instrumental methods, and fluency in both German and English.
