Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity for a Doctoral Candidate in Natural Sciences to join the Internal Medicine Clinic I at the University Hospital Freiburg, focusing on fundamental and translational tumor immunology research. The successful candidate will investigate the mechanisms of immune evasion in Gliomas, particularly Glioblastoma, utilizing cutting-edge Spatial Single-Cell Technologies such as Spatial Multi-Omics (Visium, SlideTags, PhenoCycler Fusion). Day-to-day work involves handling both patient and mouse samples, performing complex molecular biology techniques like RNA/DNA isolation and library preparation, and collaborating with clinical and bioinformatics partners. This role requires a Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Molecular Medicine or Bioinformatics) and strong foundational experience in antibody-based staining methods (IHC/IF) and molecular lab work. The position offers structured mentoring and participation in the CRC1479 "OncoEscape" Graduate School, providing a robust environment for completing a high-impact scientific doctoral thesis.
