Scientific Researcher in Biology | Wissenschaftliche*r Mitarbeiter*in im Bereich Biologie (w/m/d)
Johann Heinrich von Thünen-Institut
Job Summary
This role is a fixed-term position (April 2026 – March 2029) within the Institute of Forest Genetics, focusing on the 'EpiForst' project, which investigates the utilization of epigenetic changes to optimize growth performance and stress resistance in forest trees under climate change conditions. The researcher will be responsible for the planning, coordination, and evaluation of complex experiments, including chemical priming, and advanced molecular analyses such as UPLC/MS, RNAseq, and DNA nanopore sequencing. Key duties involve managing plant cultivation (in-vitro, greenhouse, nursery), supervising technical assistants, presenting findings at scientific conferences, and producing high-quality publications and reports. This position requires a strong background in molecular biology, expertise in analyzing epigenetic markers, and experience in high-throughput sequencing data analysis, offering the opportunity to contribute directly to critical research on forest preservation.
