Job Summary

This Postdoctoral Researcher role at the DKFZ focuses on developing virtual twin solutions for clinical decision support within the EU-funded ARTEMIS network, specifically investigating inter-organ communication between the liver and heart. The primary goal is risk stratification for cardiovascular disease (CVD) in patients with Metabolic Dysfunction-associated Steatotic Liver Disease (MASLD). Day-to-day tasks involve developing and implementing mass spectrometry-based methods for quantitative protein analysis in tissue and plasma samples, conducting experiments, and managing complex omics data analysis using statistical and computational tools. The researcher is also responsible for documenting and publishing findings, presenting results at conferences, coordinating legal documents (e.g., Data Sharing Agreements), and contributing to the intellectual property and commercialization strategy for developing medical products. This position requires a PhD in a relevant life science field and proven expertise in proteomics and systems biology, offering a chance to contribute to pioneering scientific discovery in a world-class research environment.
