Job Summary

The German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ) is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Researcher to join the Junior Clinical Cooperation Unit 'Translational Gastrointestinal Oncology and Preclinical Models.' This role focuses on identifying cancer vulnerabilities and treatment resistance mechanisms, specifically investigating translational control and the influence of microbiota in colorectal cancer (CRC). Day-to-day tasks involve applying a wide range of genetic, molecular, and biochemical techniques, including optimizing and applying ribosome profiling and single-cell ribosome profiling on patient-derived organoids and clinical samples. The researcher will characterize the impact of gut microbiota-derived metabolites on signaling pathways and therapy resistance. The ideal candidate holds a PhD in biochemistry, biology, or a related field, possesses essential experience in biochemical and molecular biology techniques, and demonstrates excellent communication skills in English for effective collaboration within a multidisciplinary, international research consortium.
