Job Summary

This role involves working as a Natural Scientist or Molecular Biologist within the Public Health Microbiology department of the Bavarian State Office for Health and Food Safety (LGL) in Oberschleißheim. The successful candidate will contribute to the 'One Health' mission by focusing on microbiological, human virological, and medical diagnostic laboratory work, including molecular biology, mycobacteriology, and infection serology. Key responsibilities include participating in and developing the Bavaria Influenza and Corona Sentinel programs, advancing laboratory automation procedures, and conducting and evaluating molecular epidemiological and infection serological data (with a focus on PCR and melting curve analysis). The position requires strong organizational skills, experience with S2/S3 laboratory work, and the ability to contribute to quality management and outbreak analysis, supporting public health and consumer protection in Bavaria.

Required Skills

Education

Master's degree or Diploma (University) in Natural Sciences, potentially with a PhD

Experience
