Job Summary

This role is a crucial position within the Nature Conservation Office, focusing on the preservation and development of protected areas. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating written maintenance and development plans (PEPL) for nature reserves and other ecologically valuable sites. Day-to-day tasks involve managing parts of projects for implementing conservation measures, overseeing county-owned nature conservation areas—including assessing land purchases, leases, and tax exemptions—and revising protected area ordinances and natural monuments. Furthermore, the role involves planning the deployment of the maintenance team and landscape monitoring, and executing forestry authority duties such as providing advice on forest matters and processing forest conversion applications. Key qualifications include a relevant university degree in fields like Landscape Planning, Biology, or Forestry, coupled with excellent botanical and zoological species knowledge and proficiency in ArcGIS. Required Skills

Education

University Degree (Diploma/FH or Bachelor) in Landscape Planning, Nature Conservation, Landscape Ecology, Environmental Planning, Environmental Sciences (with focus on Ecology), Environmental and Landscape Design, Forestry, Forest Science, or Biology.

Experience

  • Professional experience in creating maintenance and development plans for protected areas
  • Experience in managing and administering nature conservation land
  • Experience in regulatory work concerning protected area ordinances and natural monuments
