Job Summary

This part-time (65%) Scientific Staff position as a Bioinformatician or Molecular Mycologist at TU Dresden contributes to the interdisciplinary μDYNAST research project, focusing on the invasive Black Cherry tree (Prunus serotina) in Central European forests. The primary responsibilities involve advanced molecular and microbiome-related tasks, including analyzing the P. serotina mycobiome using ONT sequencing data. Daily activities include raw data processing, quality control, taxonomic classification of endophytic fungi, and assessing shifts in microbial communities related to tree vitality and stress. The role also requires processing transcriptome data for assembly, annotation, and identifying stress-related transcripts. Candidates must possess an excellent scientific university degree in Bioinformatics, Systems Biology, Molecular Biology, or a related field. Basic familiarity with ONT sequencing data processing is beneficial.
