Job Summary

This role involves taking responsibility for conducting and evaluating technical investigations within the Ammunition Technology and Special Testing department for a world-leading small arms manufacturer. The Ballistics and Ammunition Engineer will be crucial in developing and managing suitable test setups and measurement chains for capturing physical characteristic values during special tests, such as durability firing tests (Lebensdauerbeschüsse). Key responsibilities include selecting and providing appropriate measuring and testing equipment, documenting results, and preparing presentations. The ideal candidate holds a technical university degree in fields like Physics, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Materials Science, and must possess routine experience with analog and digital measurement procedures, strong skills in MS Office, CAQ, ERP systems (ideally SAP), and calculation software like MatLab. Excellent English skills and a proactive, quality-focused work ethic are essential for success in this demanding technical role.

Required Skills

Education

Technical university degree (University, FH) in Physics, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or similar. Qualification certificate according to SprengG §20 (Explosives Act) and reloading certificate according to §27 are desirable.

Experience

  • Professional experience in conducting and evaluating technical investigations
  • Experience in developing and managing test setups and measurement chains
  • Routine experience with analog and digital measurement procedures for physical quantities
  • Experience with CAQ systems, ERP systems (ideally SAP), and databases
