Job Summary

This is a full-time professorship focused on teaching and applied research within Business Information Systems, with a strong emphasis on Software Development. The role involves covering foundational topics like programming, databases, algorithms, and advanced software development methods, including AI in software development, agile methodologies, and DevOps. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching in both German and English, developing curriculum, supervising student theses (Bachelor's, Master's, and Doctoral), and actively engaging in the acquisition of third-party funding for research and transfer activities. A key requirement is substantial professional experience in implementing software development projects, combined with a strong academic background, ideally a doctoral degree in Business Information Systems or Computer Science, and a commitment to academic self-governance and international partnerships.

Experience

  • At least 5 years of professional practice after completing the university degree, demonstrating special achievements in the application or development of scientific knowledge and methods
  • At least 3 years of professional practice must have been acquired outside the higher education sector (or equivalent cooperation experience)
  • Relevant professional experience in the implementation of software development projects
  • Over-average professional and scientific qualification in Business Information Systems with a focus on Software Engineering
