Job Summary

This role involves supporting and managing state-level financing programs focused on water, soil, and waste management projects across German federal states. The Environmental Projects Officer will be crucial in ensuring the successful execution of these initiatives, contributing significantly to sustainable and unified resource management. Day-to-day responsibilities include managing project tenders, drafting and concluding contracts, preparing grant notices using templates, and coordinating fundamental project documents with various state authorities and working groups (LAWA, LABO, LAGA). The ideal candidate must possess a Bachelor's degree in Public Administration or a related field, or equivalent administrative qualifications, coupled with strong organizational skills and proficiency in standard office software. Experience in grant and contract law is highly desirable. The position requires excellent communication, negotiation skills, and proven German language proficiency at a C1 level to effectively manage stakeholder relations from project inception to completion, including budget planning and reporting.

Required Skills

Education

Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Public Administration, Business Law (Diplom-Wirtschaftsjurist), or equivalent qualifications such as Certified Administrative Specialist (Verwaltungsfachwirt) or completion of Angestelltenlehrgang A II.

Experience

  • Professional experience in public administration (required if degree is in Business or Finance)
  • 2 years of full-time professional experience in public administration (if degree is in Business or Finance)
  • Experience in grant and contract law (desirable)

  • Proven German language skills, written and spoken, at a minimum C1 level according to the Common European Framework of Reference.
