Job Summary

The German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ) is seeking a dedicated Technical Assistant to join the Personalized Medical Oncology department in Heidelberg, focusing on advancing tailored cancer therapies. This challenging and interesting role involves extensive laboratory work, including performing and assisting in mouse experiments, managing transgenic mouse lines, and conducting complex cell culture work, including organoids and primary cells. Day-to-day tasks will also encompass applying molecular biology and protein biochemistry methods such as Real-time PCR, FACS analysis, Western Blot, and Single-Cell Sequencing. The ideal candidate will have a background as a Medical, Chemical, or Biological Technical Assistant, possess hands-on experience with animal testing (mice), and be proficient in histological and molecular techniques. This position offers excellent working conditions within a dynamic, multinational team collaborating closely with national and international partners, contributing directly to translational cancer research.

Completed training as a Medical, Chemical, or Biological Technical Assistant (MTA, CTA, BTA) or equivalent knowledge and skills; Animal experimentation training EU Activity A, D (formerly FELASA B)
