Job Summary

This role involves managing construction projects, specifically focusing on building and technical systems for scientific and experimental research facilities within the German Aerospace Center (DLR). Based in Berlin, the Project Manager will act as the client representative, overseeing planning and execution across all phases (1-9) of the HOAI standard, ensuring compliance with public law and building regulations. Key responsibilities include project steering, scheduling, cost control, and developing suitable concepts tailored to user requirements and economic constraints. The ideal candidate holds a degree in Electrical Engineering, possesses at least three years of experience managing large construction projects (preferably in research environments), and is proficient in project management tools, AutoCAD, and SAP, alongside deep knowledge of German construction regulations (VOB, HOAI, RBBau). Required Skills

Education

University degree (Diplom (FH) / Bachelor) in Electrical Engineering. Proven knowledge in project management through degree or further training.

Experience

  • Minimum 3 years in managing large construction projects, e.g., in the research sector
  • Experience in steering external planning offices
  • Experience in cost control, project steering, and acceptance of construction services
  • Professional experience in implementing and interpreting VOB, VHB, LBOs, HOAI, and RBBau
