Job Summary

This position offers a unique opportunity for a Research Associate or PhD Candidate to contribute to sustainable aviation by focusing on 3D-printed Triple-Periodic Minimal Surface Heat Exchanger Structures (TPMS-WTS). The role involves conducting detailed numerical and experimental investigations, scientific research into the structural, fluid mechanics, and heat transfer properties of TPMS-WTS, and developing suitable numerical models. As part of the ['skai]-lab research group, a collaboration between BTU, DLR, and BAM, you will contribute to quality control, condition analysis, and operational safety of additively manufactured components for electrified aircraft propulsion systems. Key requirements include a Master's degree in a relevant engineering or science field and strong knowledge of solid mechanics, numerical simulation (FEM/CFD), and manufacturing technology. This 4-year contract role is based in Cottbus and aims to culminate in a doctoral degree, making it ideal for recent graduates or experienced professionals seeking advanced research in cutting-edge aerospace technology.
