This role involves working as a Materials Tester with a focus on Non-Destructive Testing (NDT), specifically within X-ray inspection, for Rheinmetall, a leading defense and security technology company in Unterlüß. Day-to-day responsibilities include coordinating, executing, and evaluating X-ray examinations, managing testing schedules, and handling hazardous components like explosives safely. The specialist will also be responsible for setting up test configurations, analyzing data and images, generating detailed inspection reports, and performing preventive maintenance on X-ray equipment to ensure system availability. Key requirements include a completed apprenticeship as a Materials Tester or in a related technical field (Electronics, Mechatronics, Industrial Mechanics), experience operating X-ray control software, and specific knowledge of digital image processing, NDT standards, and radiation protection.
