Job Summary

This role involves working with Rheinmetall, a leader in defense and security technology, focusing on Non-Destructive Testing (NDT), specifically radiographic examination, at the Unterlüß site. The Materials Tester will be responsible for coordinating, executing, and evaluating X-ray examinations, including handling explosives and hazardous components safely. Key duties include planning and setting up testing configurations, managing the timely execution of radiation testing, and analyzing data and images. The specialist will also conduct preventive maintenance on X-ray systems to ensure availability and create detailed radiation testing reports. This position requires formal training in materials testing or a related technical field, along with expertise in X-ray system control software, digital image processing, and relevant NDT standards and radiation protection protocols.

Required Skills

Education

Completed apprenticeship/vocational training as a Materials Tester, or alternatively, as an Electrician, Mechatronics Technician, Industrial Mechanic, or similar technical qualification.

Experience

  • Experience in operating software for controlling X-ray equipment
  • Knowledge in the application of testing and measuring methods
  • Knowledge of standards for non-destructive radiographic testing and radiation protection
