Job Summary

The City of Duisburg is seeking a dedicated Specialist or Administrative Officer to manage critical IT Security, Data Protection, and Digital Transformation processes within the Department for Environment, Climate Protection, Health, Consumer Protection, and Culture. This pivotal role involves coordinating the implementation of security and data protection measures across various departments, acting as the primary liaison for the official IT Security and Data Protection Officers. Key responsibilities include managing the setup and continuous operation of the departmental Information Security Management System (ISMS) and advising specialized areas on initiating new digitalization projects. The ideal candidate must possess significant administrative or legal qualifications (Bachelor level or equivalent administrative certification) and demonstrate at least four years of relevant post-qualification professional experience, alongside strong networking skills and proficiency in standard office applications.

Required Skills

Education

Required qualifications include either eligibility for the recognized career path (Bachelor level, non-technical administrative service) OR administrative training with the Second Administrative Examination (Angestelltenlehrgang II) OR certified Administrative Specialist (Verwaltungsfachwirt) OR a completed university degree (Bachelor or Diploma FH) in a legally-focused or relevant field.

Experience

  • Minimum 4 years of relevant professional experience following the acquisition of the required qualification
  • Professional experience in coordinating IT security and digitalization processes OR the willingness to acquire this knowledge quickly
  • Experience in networking and managing stakeholders OR the willingness to acquire this knowledge quickly
