Job Summary

This role involves coordinating and managing the specialized professional software "Open Prosoz" within the Social Services department of the Göttingen District Administration. Day-to-day tasks include maintaining the software, addressing specific user questions related to benefits processing and assistance planning, performing data collection and maintenance for the creation of the Participation Procedure Report (§ 41 SGB IX), and handling general data queries within the system. The ideal candidate must possess a strong background in public administration, legal knowledge (especially SGB I, X, IX, XII, and AsylbLG), and high IT affinity. Success requires self-reliance, strong organizational skills, decision-making ability, and a service-oriented approach, ensuring the smooth operation of critical social services software.

Required Skills

Education

Civil Service qualification for the first entry level of Career Group 2, General Services track (formerly higher general administrative service), or successful completion of the Employee Course II, or a comparable qualification (e.g., Bachelor's degree in Public Administration or first State Examination in Law).

Experience

  • Professional experience in applying legal frameworks into practice
  • Experience as a software supervisor or in IT support (desirable)
  • Knowledge of German Social Codes (SGB I, X, IX, XII) and Asylum Seekers Benefits Act (AsylbLG) (advantageous)

Additional

  • Driver's license Class B is required. The use of a private motor vehicle for work purposes against financial reimbursement is desirable. Must be willing to work in Göttingen, with the possibility of changes to the workplace based on management discretion. The position is initially limited until December 31, 2027, with the intention of subsequent continued employment.
