Job Summary

This role involves coordinating and managing a critical pilot project focused on the early detection of CLN2 disease within a DIN EN ISO 15189 accredited laboratory. The successful candidate will be responsible for the planning, monitoring, and documentation of high-volume sample analyses (approximately 300,000 samples over three years), ensuring rigorous quality assurance, and performing troubleshooting for ongoing LC-MS/MS operations. A major focus includes method development and validation of tandem mass spectrometry techniques for new target diseases, such as Vitamin B12 deficiency and various acidemias. This position requires a scientific background in natural sciences, essential prior experience with LC-MS/MS method development, and strong organizational skills to contribute effectively to a highly motivated, multidisciplinary team of scientists, physicians, and technical assistants. This is a crucial, full-time position initially limited by maternity leave coverage until May 2027.

Required Skills

Education

Completed scientific university degree in Natural Sciences (Chemistry/Biochemistry), Optional: Doctoral degree (Ph.D.)

Experience

  • Prior experience in the development and validation of tandem mass spectrometric methods (LC-MS/MS) is necessary
  • Experience working in an accredited laboratory environment (DIN EN ISO 15189) is implied
  • Professional experience contributing to a multidisciplinary scientific team
