Job Summary

This role involves leading a 6-person IT Service Group at the Center for Molecular Neurobiology (ZMNH), a renowned basic research center focused on molecular and cellular neurosciences. The specialist will be responsible for the technical conceptualization, security, documentation, and operation of the Linux server and Cisco network infrastructure within an international research environment. Key responsibilities include driving technological advancement in collaboration with the central UKE IT, acting as the primary technical contact for scientists, and leading IT projects from requirements gathering through implementation. Candidates must possess a university degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, extensive experience in virtualized Linux environments, and a strong hands-on mentality in scripting and automation. This is a crucial position supporting cutting-edge scientific research.

Required Skills

Education

Completed scientific university degree in Computer Science, Technical Informatics, Physics, Mathematics, or equivalent IT specialization, or equivalent knowledge/skills (e.g., in connection with an engineering degree)

Experience

  • Professional experience in IT within a large company or consulting organization (ideally several years)
  • Experience in a virtualized Linux-based server environment with heterogeneous clients
  • Experience in the coordination and leadership of IT projects
