PhD Student in Physiological Chemistry and Pathobiochemistry | PhD Student (m/w/d)
Universitätsklinikum Münster
Job Summary
This is a unique opportunity for a highly motivated PhD student to join the Marie Sklodowska-Curie Action Doctoral Network (MSCA-DN) REMOD-HEALING, focusing on targeting Extracellular Matrix (ECM) remodelling in cutaneous wounds to promote better healing. The role, based at the University of Münster, involves generating and utilizing collagenase-sensitive probes equipped with FRET and FLIM capabilities to map and quantify collagenase activity in protease-damaged tissue, such as snake bites and other skin wounds. Day-to-day tasks include protein expression, purification, biophysical measurements (CD spectroscopy, FRET/FLIM), and developing non-cleavable homologs as potential collagenase inhibitors. The ideal candidate holds a Master’s degree in biology, biochemistry, or chemistry and possesses experience in protein biochemistry, molecular biology, and/or cell biology, ready to contribute to cutting-edge research in regenerative medicine within an international, interdisciplinary team.
