Job Summary

This is an opportunity to join Agroscope, Switzerland's federal competence center for agricultural research, as a highly skilled Laboratory Technician. You will work autonomously within a dynamic research environment, focusing on executing, organizing, and evaluating microbiological and molecular biology experiments. A core responsibility involves developing, optimizing, and automating advanced molecular biology methods, including DNA/RNA isolation, PCR, genotyping, and DNA sequencing, in close collaboration with the scientific team. Furthermore, you will be responsible for maintaining the instrument park, organizing services, and managing data entry into the LIMS system. This role requires several years of practical experience in the field and offers the chance to contribute organizational skills during the upcoming consolidation and relocation of laboratory activities to the Posieux site starting in 2026.

Required Skills

Education

Federal Certificate of Capacity (CFC) as a Laboratory Technician in Biology or equivalent training

Experience

  • Several years of practical experience in microbiology and molecular biology
  • Professional experience working autonomously within a research laboratory
  • Proven organizational skills and a careful, precise working style

Additional

  • Good knowledge of two official Swiss languages (in addition to English) is required. Must be willing to work in Liebefeld initially, with a planned relocation to Posieux starting July 1, 2026, and participate in laboratory preparation and moving activities.
