Job Summary

This role involves the independent planning and execution of large-scale infrastructure projects, ranging from single-digit to triple-digit millions, focusing on drainage and wastewater treatment for the City of Hannover's municipal utilities. The Electrical Engineer will serve as a Project or Sub-Project Manager, primarily overseeing construction measures with an electrical engineering focus across all phases (1-9) of the HOAI. Key responsibilities include coordinating internal and external partners (engineering firms, authorities), managing project controlling (quality, costs, schedules), and developing long-term investment plans and technical standards. The ideal candidate must possess a degree in Electrical or Energy Technology, at least five years of professional experience in planning, and expertise in electrical system installation, control, automation, and process control technology, ideally within the wastewater sector. The position requires strong German language skills and the ability to navigate difficult terrain.

Education

University degree (e.g., Bachelor, Diplom (FH)) in Electrical Engineering or Energy Technology, or equivalent qualification for civil service track (Laufbahngruppe 2, first entry level, Technical Services)

Experience

  • Minimum five years of practical professional experience in planning
  • Experience in the planning and installation of electrical systems
  • Experience in control, automation, and process control technology, ideally in wastewater engineering
  • Experience in the municipal sector and administration (desirable)
  • Experience managing construction projects with electro-technical focus
