Job Summary
This role is a fixed-term Scientific Employee position at the Federal Institute for Materials Research and Testing (BAM) in Berlin, focusing on advanced analytics and sensor technology within Chemistry or Applied Physics. The core responsibility involves contributing to an EMPIR project focused on the metrology of hydrogen vehicles. Daily tasks include conducting gas measurement technology experiments in a real-world laboratory setting, developing and validating integrated measurement techniques for hydrogen mobility, and creating sensor-supported or online monitoring procedures to detect hydrogen impurities. The successful candidate will also expand knowledge on hydrogen contamination, develop quality assurance procedures, and draft project reports and scientific manuscripts primarily in English. Essential qualifications include a relevant scientific university degree, proven experimental skills with gas measurement technology, and proficiency in data analysis using tools like Origin, KNIME, or Python. The position requires strong communication skills in both German and English (minimum B2 level) and offers opportunities to work within international research networks.

Experience
- Professional experience in experimental setup and independent execution of experiments with gas measurement technology
- Professional experience in data acquisition and analysis using Origin, KNIME, or Python
- Professional experience in the evaluation of experiments
- Professional experience in drafting project reports in English
- Experience in supervising students (desirable)
