Job Summary

This role involves supporting the six-person HR department at the FRANZ LISZT University of Music Weimar, a prestigious educational institution. The specialist will handle key operational HR tasks, focusing on administrative processes such as processing employee sick leave notifications (including data entry in the MACH HR software and coordinating with central payroll services), managing vacation requests, and processing business travel applications and expense reports. A successful candidate must possess a completed administrative or commercial apprenticeship, or equivalent experience, coupled with knowledge of relevant German labor laws (Entgeltfortzahlungsgesetz, Bundesurlaubsgesetz, Thüringer Reisekostengesetz, and TV-L). The position requires excellent German language skills (C1/Native level), proficiency in MS Office, and a structured, service-oriented approach to supporting employees and management. This is a part-time (87.5% / 35 hours per week) fixed-term contract for two years, supporting operational business during an IT implementation project.

Required Skills

Education

Completed administrative apprenticeship or commercial apprenticeship, or equivalent qualifications.

Experience

  • Professional experience in a comparable activity (advantageous)
  • Experience using an ERP system, ideally the MACH HR software (advantageous)
  • Long-term relevant professional experience (if no formal qualification)
