Job Summary

This leadership role requires managing the Infrastructural Services department, overseeing approximately 20 employees, and ensuring the seamless operation of cleaning, waste management, outdoor facilities, and traffic safety compliance across roughly 90 university properties. A core focus involves securing proper hygiene and waste disposal management while adhering to environmental protection standards, especially crucial given the complexity of maintaining historic and UNESCO World Heritage sites. Day-to-day tasks include budget responsibility, continuous process improvement, and extensive procurement management, including drafting tender documents and conducting quality control for external services like cleaning, waste disposal, and winter maintenance. The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in Facility Management or a comparable qualification, possesses proven leadership ability, and is fluent in German (C1 minimum). Required Skills

Education

Successfully completed relevant Bachelor's degree (e.g., Facility Management) OR comparable qualification through several years of relevant professional activity combined with proven further training.

Experience

  • Demonstrable experience in staff leadership
  • Professional experience in Facility Management or a comparable relevant field
  • Experience in procurement law and practice, including drafting tender documents and accompanying award procedures
  • Fundamentally sound knowledge of Waste Law (Abfallrecht)
