Job Summary
This role is for an Operations Engineer in Wilhelmshaven, responsible for leading technical operations groups including wastewater technology, mechanical engineering, POL (Petroleum, Oil, Lubricants) systems, building construction, and hydraulic engineering. The successful candidate will act as the Water Protection Officer for the Wilhelmshaven service center and manage the maintenance of facilities handling water-hazardous substances. Key responsibilities include overseeing operational duties, ensuring economic and legally compliant operation of structural and technical systems, and managing performance delivery. This position offers a stable, full-time, or part-time employment with the possibility of civil servant status, flexible working hours, and opportunities for professional development within a secure economic environment. Regular business trips and participation in ongoing training are expected.
Required Skills
Education
University or technical college degree in General or Structural Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, Mechatronics, Production Technology, Process and Supply Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Civil Engineering.
Experience
- At least two years of professional experience in technical building management
- Willingness to acquire qualifications as a Water Protection Officer
- Willingness to acquire qualifications as an operationally responsible person according to § 63 AwSt
Languages
Additional
- Must be a German citizen (as per Article 116, Section 1 of the Basic Law). Must possess or be willing to acquire a Class B driver's license and the Bundeswehr Class B driver's license. Willingness to drive official vehicles. Commitment to the liberal democratic basic order as per the Basic Law. Willingness to undergo a medical examination. Willingness to undergo an extended security clearance (Level Ü2 required). For civil servant appointment, generally must not have reached the age of 50 at the time of appointment.
