Job Summary

This role involves working as an Electrical Engineering Technician within the Technical System Service of the Marine Arsenal in Kiel, focusing on platform technology. You will join a small team as a Construction Manager in Schleswig-Holstein, overseeing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance projects. Key responsibilities include conducting quality assurance at maintenance sites, representing project leadership to contractors, monitoring work progress, and preparing for service acceptances. You will also contribute to technical evaluations of maintenance requests, reports, offers, and schedules. The position requires participation in inspections, measurements, tests, and commissioning both at contractor facilities and aboard German Navy vessels. Additionally, you will manage materials needed for ship and boat maintenance. This is a permanent position, offering a stable work environment with flexible hours and potential for civil servant status.

Required Skills

Education

Completed vocational training in Electrical Engineering or a comparable field, AND a completed further education as a Master or state-certified Technician in Electrical Engineering or a comparable field.

Experience

  • At least two years of professional experience with power generation and distribution systems on ships and boats, or comparable systems.
  • Professional experience in ship maintenance techniques and procedures (desired).
  • Experience with Bundeswehr logistics and material management in SAP/SASPF (desired).

  • Must be a German citizen (as per Article 116, Section 1 of the Basic Law). Must possess a Class B driving license and a Bundeswehr Class B driving license, or be willing to acquire them. Willingness to drive official vehicles. Willingness to undergo a medical examination and an extended security clearance (Level Ü2 required). Must be eligible for civil servant status (generally under 50 years old at time of appointment). Must possess seafaring fitness certificate (Seediensttauglichkeit) according to §11 SeeArbG and MariMedV (Service Branch: Other Ship Service). Willingness to undertake regular business trips, including on German Navy ships and boats.
