Job Summary

This role involves developing and implementing a new measurement procedure for assessing longitudinal evenness during asphalt paving, specifically for construction site use. The Development Engineer will join the Road Construction Technology department to contribute to the 'QuaLae' third-party funded project. Day-to-day tasks include defining measurement goals, selecting and testing suitable sensor technology, developing prototypes, and creating control and evaluation units for data processing. The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Measurement Technology, Automation, or Mechatronics, along with practical experience in measurement systems and calibration. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to innovative quality monitoring methods in civil engineering, requiring a high degree of technical skill and the ability to conduct validation under real construction conditions.

Required Skills

Education

Bachelor's degree or FH Diploma in Engineering Sciences, preferably Electrical Engineering, Automation Technology, Mechatronics, or comparable fields

Experience

  • Practical experience and knowledge in low voltage systems (up to 1000 V) on devices and fixtures (Desirable)
  • Knowledge and practical experience in handling measurement systems (Desirable)
  • Experience in the calibration of measurement systems (Desirable)
  • Experience in handling standard PC software (Microsoft Windows, Excel, etc.) and databases (Desirable)
