Job Summary

This role involves joining an IT Operations Team based in Cologne-Mülheim, focusing on operating and expanding the IT infrastructure for numerous mid-sized clients. The System Engineer will be responsible for 2nd and 3rd level incident, change, and problem management within heterogeneous customer networks, primarily handled remotely. Key daily tasks include planning and implementing network projects, analyzing network faults, communicating with manufacturers and clients for troubleshooting, and maintaining network documentation and CMDBs. A critical component of the job is providing presales support for network and security technologies and participating in a 24x7 on-call rotation. The ideal candidate possesses a relevant IT qualification or degree, extensive professional experience in network and security technologies, practical experience with major vendors like Cisco and Fortinet, and strong analytical and problem-solving skills, complemented by fluent German (C1/C2) and proficient English.
