Job Summary

This role involves joining a large IT Operations Team based in Cologne-Mülheim, focused on operating and expanding the IT infrastructure for numerous mid-sized clients. The System Engineer will be responsible for 2nd and 3rd level incident, change, and problem management within heterogeneous customer networks, primarily handled remotely. Key daily tasks include planning and implementing network projects, analyzing network faults, communicating directly with vendors and customers for troubleshooting, and maintaining network documentation and Configuration Management Databases (CMDBs). Additionally, the position requires providing presales support for network and security technologies and participating in a mandatory 24x7 on-call rotation. The ideal candidate must possess a relevant IT qualification or a degree in Computer Science, combined with several years of professional experience in network and security. Strong analytical skills and fluency in German (C1/C2) are essential for success in this client-facing role.
