Job Summary

This critical leadership role within BioNTech IMFS (Innovative Manufacturing Sciences) GmbH focuses on heading the Analytical Science and Technology (ASAT) department, which is integral to the Quality Control division supporting the manufacturing of cellular medicines and gene therapeutics for clinical trials. The Head of Department will provide technical and disciplinary leadership to approximately 40 employees across three teams, focusing on the development, optimization, and implementation of innovative analytical methods and technologies within a GMP environment. Key responsibilities include budgeting, technology project planning, method transfer, process optimization for product characterization and release, and ensuring strict adherence to regulatory requirements and quality standards. The ideal candidate must possess an advanced degree in Biochemistry or a related field, significant professional experience in the biotech/pharma sector, and proven competence in leading teams and managing complex analytical projects, particularly involving cell-based assays and chemical-physical methods.
