Day-to-day tasks involve developing quantum algorithms using frameworks like Qualtran and PennyLane, benchmarking high-performance classical methods (e.g., GPU-accelerated DFT, CASSCF), and implementing workflows. The role requires identifying chemical application cases focused on Covestro's circular economy vision and contributing scientifically through publications and patent applications. Key requirements include a PhD in Quantum Theory or Theoretical/Computational Chemistry, comprehensive experience with quantum computing programming languages, and expertise in Python's advanced features and professional software development workflows. Required Skills

Education

Doctorate (PhD) in Quantum Theory, Quantum Informatics, Quantum Computing, or Theoretical/Computational Chemistry with a focus on methods development

Experience

  • Impressive list of scientific publications
  • Relevant experience as a Post-Doc, in a technology/software startup, or an industrial R&D group (ideally)
