Job Summary

This role seeks a motivated Doctoral Researcher to join the Analytical Chemistry and Reference Materials division in Berlin-Adlershof, focusing on the synthesis and optimization of nanoparticles and polyoxometalates. The core responsibilities involve setting up automated lab-scale reaction processes, utilizing advanced characterization methods, and implementing machine learning techniques to refine synthesis parameters based on material properties. The researcher will also engage in in-silico pre-selection and synthesizability predictions to guide synthetic exploration. This is a 36-month, 75% time-limited contract, ideal for candidates with a strong background in synthetic materials chemistry, automation, and a desire to contribute to an interdisciplinary project combining chemistry, simulation, and nanotechnology within the prestigious Federal Institute for Materials Research and Testing (BAM).

Required Skills

Education

Master's or Diploma degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or comparable field

Experience

  • Practical experience in the synthesis of Nano- and Advanced Materials
  • Specific practical experience in the synthesis of Polyoxometalates and porous Nanoparticles is advantageous
  • Experience with suitable characterization methods for these material classes
