Job Summary

This role is for a highly motivated Biologist or Postdoctoral Researcher to join the Department of Nephrology and Else Kroener-Fresenius Center, focusing on translational research connecting cardiovascular and kidney diseases. The successful candidate will utilize cutting-edge systems biology and data science techniques, including single-cell and spatial omics, to analyze large population-based datasets (like UK Biobank) and identify molecular mechanisms driving cardiovascular complications in kidney disease. Day-to-day tasks involve processing and analyzing complex multi-omics data (scRNA-seq, scATAC-seq), implementing machine learning and AI for cell type identification and network analysis, and collaborating closely with clinical researchers. The position is embedded within major research clusters (CPI, DZHK, CRC TRR 219) offering state-of-the-art infrastructure, comprehensive training, and the opportunity to contribute significantly to high-impact scientific publications and potentially a PhD thesis.
