Job Summary

This Postdoctoral position offers a unique opportunity to conduct cutting-edge interdisciplinary research at the intersection of single-cell omics, spatial transcriptomics, and AI-based modeling within the Department of Nephrology at Universitätsmedizin Frankfurt. The successful candidate will leverage large-scale multi-omics and clinical data to study the role of the hematopoietic system in cardiovascular disease related to kidney injury. Day-to-day responsibilities include the analysis and integration of complex NGS data (scRNA-seq, scATAC-seq, spatial transcriptomics), developing and applying AI/machine learning models (e.g., deep learning) to dissect cellular states, and integrating population-scale biobank datasets (like UK Biobank) to identify causal pathways. This role requires a PhD in a quantitative field, a strong background in bioinformatics/data science, and proven programming skills in R and/or Python, offering access to state-of-the-art omics platforms and high-performance computing infrastructure.
