Job Summary

This role involves critical day-to-day laboratory operations within the Veterinary Pathology division, focusing on sustainable livestock health. Key responsibilities include receiving and logging livestock and biological samples (swabs, organs) into the laboratory database, ensuring accurate tracking and documentation, and checking the completeness of investigation orders and import permits. A crucial aspect is the preparation and processing of samples for disease detection, such as Salmonella, bacteria, and parasites. The technician will also be responsible for the humane euthanasia of animals in compliance with animal welfare regulations (requiring specific certification) and performing necropsies for sampling. Candidates must possess vocational training as a Biology Laboratory Technician (BTA, VMTA, MTA) or equivalent, alongside strong IT skills and a structured, quality-focused work ethic.
