Job Summary

The Max Planck Institute for Human Development in Berlin is seeking an experienced Electrical Technician, Master Electrician, or Electrical Engineer to manage the technical operations of various building systems. This role involves taking responsibility for fire protection, climate control, sanitary, electrical, security, and event technology systems, working closely with the Head of Building and Operations Technology. Key day-to-day tasks include acting as the responsible electrical specialist, supervising contractors, performing maintenance and repairs, and overseeing all electrical, ventilation, and refrigeration systems according to legal and technical standards. A crucial part of the job is programming, operating, and troubleshooting the computer-controlled central Building Management System (BMS/GLT). The successful candidate will also handle organizational and commercial tasks, such as obtaining quotes and conducting cost comparisons, requiring a high degree of independence, service orientation, and technical expertise in multi-trade systems.

Experience

  • Extensive installation knowledge

  • Experience in testing portable and fixed electrical systems
