Job Summary
This permanent, full-time role in Berlin is for an Electrical Systems Specialist responsible for the technical operation and maintenance of critical building infrastructure at the Max Planck Institute for Human Development. Key responsibilities include acting as the responsible Electrical Expert, overseeing contractor work, and performing independent maintenance and repairs across various systems, including electrical, fire protection, HVAC, and security technology. A crucial daily task involves programming, operating, and troubleshooting the computer-controlled central Building Management System (BMS/GLT). The ideal candidate must possess a background as an Electrical Technician, Master Electrician, or Electrical Engineer, coupled with extensive cross-trade knowledge in heating, ventilation, and cooling technology. The position also requires organizational and commercial skills, such as cost analysis and preparation for contract awarding. This role offers an international, stimulating environment and competitive public sector compensation (TVöD E10).
Required Skills
Education
Completed training as a state-certified Electrical Technician, Master Electrician, or Electrical Engineer; Further training in Measurement, Control, and Regulation Technology (MSR) or comparable technical training
Experience
- Relevant professional experience in the technical field
- Extensive installation knowledge
- Cross-trade knowledge of heating, ventilation, cooling, control technology, and fire alarm systems
- Experience with testing portable and fixed electrical systems
