Job Summary

The Max Planck Institute for Human Development in Berlin is seeking an experienced Electrical Technician, Master Electrician, or Electrical Engineer to manage the technical operations of various building systems. This crucial role involves overseeing fire safety, HVAC, sanitary, electrical, security, and event technology systems in close coordination with the Head of Building and Operations Technology. Day-to-day responsibilities include acting as the responsible Electrical Specialist, controlling contractor work, performing maintenance and repairs, and ensuring compliance with all legal and technical regulations. A significant part of the job involves operating, monitoring, and troubleshooting the central, computer-controlled Building Management System (BMS). Candidates must possess comprehensive installation knowledge across various trades (HVAC, refrigeration, control systems) and be authorized to perform switching operations up to 30 KV. The position requires strong organizational skills, including conducting cost comparisons and preparing contracts, alongside a high degree of responsibility and service orientation.
