Job Summary

This role is a fixed-term Research Associate position within the Institute for Materials Science at Kiel University, focusing on the fabrication and characterization of Magnetoelectric (ME) Sensors, specifically converse ME sensors. The successful candidate will be responsible for expanding the microsystems technology platform, integrating new processes, and adapting existing processes for novel materials. A key component of the role involves the supervision of Bachelor's and Master's students. Candidates must hold a Master's degree in Microsystems Technology or Materials Science, possess practical experience in developing micro-system processes, particularly deep etching of silicon, and have strong theoretical and practical knowledge of the magnetoelectric effect and sensor characterization. The position is part of the Collaborative Research Center 1261, offering the opportunity to pursue a structured doctoral program.

Experience

  • Professional experience in implementing and developing microsystems technology processes
  • Practical experience with the characterization of magnetoelectric sensors, especially converse ME sensors
  • Knowledge in the layout of microsystem components
