Job Summary

This role involves working in the newly established Central IT Forensics Laboratory for the Oldenburg Police Directorate, focusing on securing, processing, and analyzing digitally relevant data for criminal investigations. Day-to-day tasks include independently performing digital forensic securing of storage media, analyzing and preparing data using specialized forensic software (including file recovery and hidden content detection), and potentially utilizing AI/Neural Networks for content evaluation. The specialist will also be responsible for documenting all work steps in a court-admissible expert style and acting as an expert witness in court. Key requirements include a relevant Bachelor's degree in IT or Forensics and at least one year of practical experience in a related field. Required Skills

Education

Successful completion of a relevant Bachelor's degree in Information Technology (e.g., Computer Science, Business Informatics, Media Informatics, Electrical Engineering), General and Digital Forensics, Mathematics, Physics, or Statistics.

Experience

  • At least one year of practical experience in a related field (required for E11 classification)
  • Professional experience in digital forensic securing of storage media
  • Experience in digital forensic data analysis and preparation
  • Experience in preparing documentation in a court-admissible expert style
