This role involves working within the Oldenburg Police Inspectorate's Central Mobile Communications Laboratory to secure and analyze digital evidence. As an IT Forensics Specialist, you will be responsible for the forensic preservation of data from various storage media, performing network and malware analysis (including DDoS and botnet investigations), and preparing court-admissible expert reports. You will provide technical advice during investigations, accompany police searches involving IT systems, and develop or adapt software tools specifically for digital forensic tasks. Required Skills

Education

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology (e.g., Computer Science, Business Informatics, Media Informatics), Electrical Engineering, General and Digital Forensics, Mathematics, Physics, or Statistics.

Experience

  • At least 1 year of practical experience in a related technical field is required for standard grading.
  • Professional experience in digital forensic securing of storage media and digital traces.
  • Experience in the preparation and documentation of technical evidence for legal proceedings.
  • Experience in software tool development or adaptation for forensic purposes.
  • Experience in providing technical consultation during investigative measures.

Additional

  • Valid Class B driver's license required. Must be willing to undergo extensive training, work flexibly during special police operations, and travel within the jurisdiction of the Oldenburg Police Headquarters.
