Job Summary

This is a unique, part-time, fixed-term opportunity (until September 2027) within the Environmental Protection Office of the City of Stuttgart, focusing on local nature conservation. The successful candidate, ideally a Biologist or Landscape Ecologist, will be responsible for preparing expert opinions and species protection assessments for construction projects and public sector initiatives. Key duties include developing conservation concepts for protected areas and implementing NATURA 2000 tasks, such as coordinating efforts across city departments and managing specific habitat types. The role involves significant public relations, expert consultation for other departments, and managing external contracts for inventory surveys. This position requires strong expertise in ecology, conservation law, and the willingness to conduct frequent field visits, sometimes outside of standard working hours, making it ideal for a dedicated conservation professional.
