Job Summary

This permanent, full-time Data Engineer role is situated within the BELA-IT department of the Bartels-Langness Group, one of Northern Germany's largest privately held food retailers. The core responsibility is to build, maintain, and enhance the company's data infrastructure within an agile team environment. Day-to-day tasks include designing and developing data models, executing complex data mappings, and defining robust data flows. A critical function involves creating modern ETL/ELT processes and ensuring their seamless, continuous operation. Furthermore, the engineer will analyze and update existing Business Intelligence (BI) data flows and act as the technical developer for Data Warehouse and Business Analytics applications, always balancing technical excellence with commercial efficiency. The position requires strong foundational knowledge in Linux, various database systems (MySQL, DB2), DWH standards, and SQL, coupled with an analytical mindset and a basic commercial understanding.
