Job Summary

The Bavarian Health and Food Safety Authority (LGL) is seeking a Natural Scientist or Molecular Biologist to join the Public Health Microbiology division in Oberschleißheim. This role is crucial for maintaining public health and consumer protection by conducting and advancing microbiological, human virological, and medical diagnostic laboratory work focused on infectious agents. Day-to-day responsibilities include contributing to the Bayern Influenza and Corona Sentinels, developing lab automation procedures, performing molecular epidemiological and infectious serological data generation and analysis (heavy focus on PCR and serology), and assisting with outbreak analysis and quality management. The ideal candidate holds a Master's degree or equivalent in a natural science, possesses significant experience in molecular biology, lab automation, and working in S2/S3 laboratories, and demonstrates strong organizational and teamwork skills. This is a challenging yet rewarding opportunity to contribute directly to public health in a highly accredited, interdisciplinary environment.
