Job Summary

This role involves actively shaping the future of the Dortmund city administration by managing digitalization and organizational design projects. The Project and Process Manager will be responsible for the independent planning, control, and implementation of complex projects aimed at modernizing administrative processes. Key day-to-day tasks include conducting process analyses, identifying optimization potential, and developing modern organizational and business management solutions in collaboration with various departments. A core focus is on integrating new requirements into existing tasks through digital transformation initiatives. Candidates should possess strong analytical skills, be open to new challenges, and have an affinity for IT and the evolving digital workplace. This position requires someone who can effectively moderate meetings and workshops, influence stakeholders, and proactively acquire new knowledge to drive organizational change across the administration.

Required Skills

Education

Completed university degree (Bachelor/Diplom (FH)) in Business Psychology or Business Administration, preferably with a focus on Digitalization, Organization, or Process Management; OR Civil servant in career group 2, first entry level of the non-technical service; OR Administrative specialist who successfully completed Administrative Course II.

Experience

  • Professional experience in project and process management (advantageous)
  • Experience in an agile environment (advantageous)
  • Experience in assessing current situations and developing target concepts
  • Experience in developing organizational structures and optimizing workflows

Additional

  • Must be willing to acquire organizational pre-training/education quickly if not already possessed; Willingness to undergo regular continuing education; This is a project assignment initially limited until December 31, 2028, with the intention of transitioning to a permanent position through fluctuation.
