Job Summary

The City of Dortmund is seeking a Digitalization Manager to join the Dortmund System House team and actively shape the digital transformation of the city administration. This role involves acting as the central point of contact for digitalization needs across various departments, advising them on potential digitalization opportunities, innovative technical solutions, and process optimization. Key responsibilities include prioritizing, managing, and steering the implementation of digitalization requirements, developing strategies in collaboration with specialist departments, and analyzing data streams within processes. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of IT systems, strong skills in process and project management (including Agile methods like Scrum or PRINCE2), and experience in municipal digitalization contexts. This position offers the chance to actively contribute to the restructuring of digitalization management tasks, providing new impetus for the future of a livable and diverse city.

Required Skills

Education

Completed university degree (Bachelor/FH Diploma) in Business Administration, Economics, Administrative Sciences, Administrative Economics, Digital Management, Project and Process Management, or a comparable field. Alternatively, successful completion of Administrative Course II (for civil servants/administrative specialists).

Experience

  • Experience in municipal digitalization processes (ideal)
  • Professional experience planning, steering, and implementing projects of various sizes
  • Professional experience in process management and process modeling
