Job Summary

This role is for a dedicated Medical Laboratory Technician (MTLA) specializing in Microbiology and Virology at the University Medical Center Göttingen. The successful candidate will be responsible for essential diagnostic tasks, including the pre-analytical processing, registration, and analysis of various clinical samples such as blood cultures, urine, stool, and primary sterile materials. Daily duties involve the identification of bacteria and fungi using state-of-the-art methods like Mass Spectrometry (MALDI-TOF) and molecular procedures (PCR), alongside automated and classical biochemical techniques for resistance determination and agar diffusion tests. The position requires a completed MTLA, BTA, or Biology Laboratory Assistant qualification, a high degree of responsibility, and a readiness to learn new technologies.
